A Festive December for the Heaps Estrin Team

A Special Saturday for Heaps Estrin’s 3rd Annual Holiday Market

The market was filled with 25 incredibly talented local artisans. Our Heaps Estrin elves were spread across both floors of our office space, mingling with their clients and lovely families.

Alison Ferris and Megan Till-Landry were making handmade wreaths in support of Fetch & Releash. This is a charity that is dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs both locally and abroad and adopting them into loving families. Michael Hamnett and our wonderful little helper Eliott were greeting our wonderful clients and friends with hot cocoa and mimosas.

Giving Back with The Shoebox Project

Every year Heaps Estrin is an official drop-off location for The Shoebox Project. The Shoebox Project collects and distributes gift-filled Shoeboxes to women impacted by homelessness in the community. Through the Shoebox Project, we all have the opportunity to make this difficult time of year a little bit sweeter by enclosing a shoebox with some essentials and an inspirational message to remind her that she is valued and respected. The shoeboxes that they receive is often the only present they will get throughout the holiday season. However, we had the opportunity to make this difficult time of year a little bit sweeter by taking the time to shop with these women in mind and enclosing the shoebox with an uplifting and inspirational message to remind these women that they are valued, respected and special.

The Heaps Estrin agents organized shoebox parties, and our incredible clients coordinated and dropped-off hundreds of shoeboxes. A special thank you goes out to Kate Viner, Helen Vidinofski, Nikole, Jacquie Rutherford, and Tamara Kolber for contributing to this incredible cause.

Colette, Heather and Magda’s Shoebox Project Event Hosted at Thirty Six Knots

Three of our wonderful agents hosted a private event at Thirty Six Knots in Summerhill. Our lovely clients and friends wrapped their gift-filled Shoeboxes together while eating, drinking and getting to know each other a little bit better!

It was such a fun night and an incredible way to bring our community together to do something that will mean a lot. A huge thank you to everyone who came out, as well as to Thirty Six Knots for partnering with us on this special night.

Our Heaps Estrin agents Colette, Heather, and Magda are so thankful for everyone who dropped by and are so excited to make it happen again next year!

Cailey and Martha’s Shoebox Project Event at 208 Roxborough Drive

Cailey and Martha hosted their Shoebox Project event at the stunning 208 Roxborough Drive. This was the perfect event to host at a remarkable Rosedale heritage home, as one of its qualities is the ability to host large parties. Cailey and Martha’s clients gathered around the grand dining room to decorate their shoeboxes, sharing laughs and some wine and Hors d’oeuvres. It was incredibly rewarding to bring our clients together in one place to support women in our community.

Shoebox Project Party Hosted at Claire’s Home

Four more of our Heaps Estrin agents hosted a Shoebox Project party at Claire’s home. Sandra, Alison, Christina, and Claire purchased all of the gifts that go inside the shoeboxes, as well as the wrapping paper, blank cards, and shoeboxes. The guests only needed to bring their holiday cheer, while enjoying the drinks and food that the hostesses prepared. All of the ladies who were in attendance were so happy to be there to support women in our communities.

Shoebox Drop-off at our Local Women’s Shelters

In total, our incredible community dropped off 750 boxes to the Heaps Estrin office from December 1st-15th. We wanted to drop off the Shoeboxes to several of our local women’s shelters to connect with the community.

Ruth Mathiang, a support worker at YWCA, told us that “The Shoeboxes will go to the December 6 Fund, which gives loans to women who are fleeing violence. Receiving these Shoeboxes uplifts these women during tough times in their lives and makes such a huge difference.”

The holidays are always the most giving time of the year, and we absolutely love December as it allows us to focus our efforts on important causes, and to spend quality time with our clients, friends, and family. Thank you to everyone who has made the holiday season so wonderful for the Heaps Estrin team.

Happy Holidays everyone!
