Dixon Hall

This Holiday Season if you are looking for ways to give back, The Heaps Estrin Dixon Hall Winter Food and Clothing Drive is a great way to start.

Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Services began as a soup kitchen in 1929, and since then has been steadily increasing and strengthening a diverse range of integrated services for residents of east downtown Toronto.

Dixon Hall serves more than 10,000 people annually, impacting the lives of the most vulnerable and the most at-risk members of our community. They work with at-risk youth, seniors, adults with physical and health disabilities, people who need housing, individuals searching for employment, those with mental health issues, and newly immigrated individuals and their families.

From November 15th – December 15th we will be accepting donations of shelf-stable, simple, whole-foods and brand new or gently used men’s, uni-sex and warm winter clothes. With the cold weather quickly approaching, winter coats, sweaters and mitts are in high demand.

Dixon Hall emphasizes the importance of healthy and balanced meals, so pasta, rice, grains, spices, lentils, beans, chickpeas, oils and vinegar are on the encouraged donations list.

  • Items accepted must be in safe condition (i.e. no dents and rust on tins) and labels in tact
  • Boxed Items should be sealed and closed (no open cans or boxes or half used food items)

Donated items can be dropped off at our Heaps Estrin Office at 1391 Bayview Avenue. If you are not able to personally drop off your items, but would still like to donate, please let us know, we would be happy to pick up from you. Feel free to give us a call at 416.424.4910 for more information.

Thank you for your support.
