When things go wrong, that’s when you can distinguish between an average realtor and an exceptional one.
From the very beginning, Aman Bhatti was someone that my partner and I could trust because he was extremely professional, clearly well-versed in the condo market, and hard-working. We did not make it easy for him as we were moving from Calgary to Toronto and could only attend virtual showings. We also had a very specific list of requirements with only one neighbourhood of interest and a tight budget. However, Aman did not flinch at the challenge and was patient with us as we navigated all the options. Once we finalized a lease and signed, Aman continued to check in with us (while we were abroad and on vacation no less).
It was during our move-in that things started going wrong. We noticed that there were multiple issues with the unit that rendered it unsuitable to live in. Aman was very responsive in communicating these issues to our new landlord immediately. However, our new landlord did not agree with these issues and suggested that we break our lease. As you can imagine, it was a stressful time for all of us but Aman liaised with us, the landlord’s listing agent, and the landlord to arrange an agreement that enabled us to have our damage deposit and part of our first month’s rent returned. He also found us another condo unit within 1-2 days.
I wasn’t just impressed with Aman’s ability to find us a condo and navigate terminating a lease in the span of 3-4 days. I was truly impressed with his humility and honesty during this process. He recognized that some of the issues with the unit were not spotted during the virtual showing, which in part was due to the showing taking place with the previous tenant inside the unit. He identified that this was an opportunity for him to learn from this mistake and change his approach to virtual showings.
Aman is an incredible realtor and above all a person with integrity. We are very glad to have worked with him and hope to work with him in the future!
