Queen West is a popular west end neighbourhood in Toronto, centered along Queen Street West between Bathurst Street and Gladstone Avenue. It is known for its independent spirit, creative energy, and vibrant cultural scene. Once a run-down industrial area, Queen West was revitalized in the 1980s and 1990s and developed into an edgy but upscale neighbourhood.

Queen West features a mix of historic warehouses and factories that have been converted into lofts, as well as Victorian-era buildings. Many boutiques, galleries and restaurants have retained the original architectural details, like exposed brick walls. Residential streets are lined with rows of Victorian and Edwardian houses.
Queen West is a shopper’s paradise, with many independent fashion boutiques, vintage stores, record shops and antique stores. It has a renowned arts scene, including many cutting-edge galleries along Queen Street. The area is also a popular nightlife and music destination, with trendy bars, lounges and live music venues featuring indie rock, hip hop and electronic acts. There is a great selection of upscale and casual restaurants with cuisine from around the world.
Queen West is located along the Queen streetcar line, with service running 24 hours a day, making it very transit-accessible. The Osgoode subway station is located at the eastern end of Queen West. Street parking can be difficult to find, so public transit is recommended. Queen West is also very walkable, with many attractions located within a few blocks of Queen Street.
