Also known as Toronto’s Polish Village, “Roncy,” as it’s called by locals, is a charming and friendly place to call home. A true community feeling runs through Roncy’s streets—it often feels like a small village unto itself (with easy access to the rest of downtown Toronto). With Lake Ontario and Sunnyside Beach to the south, Parkdale and West Queen West a short walk to the east, and High Park to the west, Roncesvalles truly feels like it has the best of everything in the city.
Houses in Roncesvalles are most often semi-detached or attached—fully detached homes are a rarity in this low-turnover area. They’re well-maintained Victorian and Edwardian styles, with the odd condo or loft building throughout the area (particularly along Sorauren Avenue).
The 504 streetcar, which travels all the way into downtown and Toronto’s east end, runs along Roncesvalles Avenue. It also connects to Dundas West Subway Station, on the Bloor-Danforth line, which offers bus service north and access to the GO train and the Union-Pearson Express.
